Honors Program
The mission of the Honors Program is to provide an enhanced educational environment conducive to the academic, professional, and personal growth of students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and potential. The Honors Program offers merit-based scholarships, honors level coursework, leadership training and additional opportunities for intellectual exploration and professional development. Being an Honors Program student is considered a noteworthy achievement and is regarded favorably by graduate schools and employers.
Honors Program Eligibility
The items below are considered minimum criteria and preference will be given to those with higher scores. Qualified students may apply to the honors program prior to their first year of studies. Israel Option students may apply before or during their studies in Israel. Applications are considered as they are received and places in the Honors Program are awarded until the program is full.
- Minimum ACT composite score of 27 or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) composite score of 1260
- High school (and seminary, if applicable) minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.7 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Exceptional achievement and/or potential in one or more of the following areas: academics, leadership, and/or extracurricular pursuits
Current Student Responsibilities
- Maintain standing as a full time, on-campus student for every fall and spring semester of enrollment
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.7 each semester with no final grade lower 3.0
- Enroll in designated honors level classes in each of the fall and spring semesters
- Participate in an Honors Program event in each of the fall and spring semesters
- Demonstrate leadership on campus via an approved leadership project
- Complete an approved honors thesis/internship project
