Evangelos Kobotis, M.A.

Evangelos Kobotis has been a valued faculty member who teaches mathematics conceptually at all levels in a clear and understandable manner. He is so respected and admired that he was selected to receive a 2021 Presidential Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award from Touro University. He was born in Kalamata, Greece, and studied mathematics at the University of Athens and at the University of Chicago. His research interests are the arithmetic of elliptic curves and the analytic properties of coverings of algebraic varieties. He has taught mathematics at the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the Hebrew Theological College. Mr. Kobotis\' mission as a teacher is to make mathematics accessible, and to enrich it through the consideration of its history, its people, and its current state.
