No unaccompanied minors
Over the past few years many carriers have adopted a policy which requires children under 16 to travel as an unaccompanied minor. They routinely charge an additional $75.00 each way for this service. This service requires that we meet your son at the gate upon arrival and stay with him at the gate until he enters the plane upon departure. You can understand with half of our campers coming from out of the Chicago area it would be impossible for us to do this. United Airlines does not make this requirement for children 12 years old and above. Our policy is, therefore, to only meet campers at the baggage claim area upon arrival. Upon departure, your son will be delivered to the specific airline needed and assisted in finding the correct check-in line. Do not send campers 12 and above as an unaccompanied minor, as we will not be able to provide transportation to or from the airport. If your son will not be 12 years old at the time of travel he will have to travel as an unaccompanied minor and we will meet your son at the gate upon arrival and stay with him at the gate until he enters the plane upon departure. Please inform your airline that a staff person from Yeshivas Hakayitz Summer Camp will be meeting your son at the gate with the proper identification.
Please don’t forget to prepay your son’s luggage fee if possible for his return trip online, or provide him with the necessary funds to do so upon return.
Counselors will meet campers inside the airport at the baggage claim section of their airline
