We want to make sure there is something enjoyable for everyone."

Reunion 1 croppedOn Wednesday, May 7, Fasman Yeshiva High School held alumni reunions with recent FYHS graduates who are studying in Yeshivas and Colleges in New York. About 40 students gathered in Yeshiva University’s Furst Hall, for a pizza lunch on the first day of reading week. Later that day, about 10 students studying in Lander College for Men gathered for dinner at Carlos and Gabby’s restaurant.

As Rabbi Schuman put it, “It was so wonderful to catch up with our former talmidim and we were overwhelmed by their accomplishments. We brought them up to date on the happenings in the Yeshiva and they were so excited to hear that things are, B”H, developing so nicely.” During the reunions Rabbi Schuman impressed upon the alumni, that with their enthusiasm for their Yeshiva, they can help ensure that FYHS will be as vibrant for future students as it was for them. In attendance were, Rabbi Shmuel L. Schuman, Interim CEO of HTC, Rabbi Mordechai Ginsparg, FYHS Assistant Principal and Rabbi Joshua Zisook, Director of Admissions. All three rabbis were so proud to have had the opportunity to re-connect with the alumni and strengthen their special bond to our Yeshiva.

Reunion 2 croppedLater in June, FYHS plans to host a young alumni reunion in Chicago with students studying in Hebrew Theological College and Chicago area universities.

shalach manos 2014On Purim this year, Hebrew Theological College distributed more than 3400 Mishloach Manos packages throughout the Chicagoland area, including 140 packages that were sent to recipients out of state. This popular community project, managed by Mrs. Naomi Samber, has continued consecutively for 29 years. Each year, Mrs. Samber and her committee seek out new and exciting food items to include in the packages, making the Mishloach Manos a real surprise treat for the community. HTC would like to thank our HTC and FYHS students and parent volunteers who made this project such a huge success.
