HTC Celebrates 93rd Anniversary Dinner

On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, Hebrew Theological College held its 93rd Annual Banquet at the Westin O’Hare. HTC payed tribute to David and Gayle Aronin, Guests of Honor; Rabbi Tzvi and Shifra Haskell, Marbitz Torah Award; and Rabbi Yehiel and Shulamis Kalish, Distinguished Alumnus Award. This year's honorees are all true examples of the Dinner theme, Teaching, Leading and Building.

The Banquet, attended by over 400 alumni, parents, and friends, featured enlightening addresses by Rabbi Avraham Friedman, Rosh HaYeshiva, and Dr. Alan Kadish, President of Touro College and University System. Each honoree also delivered an impactful address and stressed how significant the yeshiva has been in their lives and the necessity to give back.

Rabbi Shmuel L. Schuman, CEO, introduced Dr. Kadish and formally welcomed Mrs. Beatrice Crain from the Crain-Maling Foundation, who, together with her son Dr. Michael Maling and family, have supported HTC for nearly a century.

Dr. Kadish highlighted HTC’s new relationship with Touro, and beautifully expressed how Touro is committed to seeing this alliance reach fruition. Dr. Kadish also stressed that the goal of the partnership is to create opportunities to leverage Touro's resources to benefit HTC students in the Beis Midrash and College for men and Blitstein Institute for women. Those opportunities will include pathways to graduate schools and expanding options for on-line courses.

Over the course of the evening, the attendees were treated to three videos about our honorees and a video that highlighted HTC’s new alliance with Touro College.

HTC is grateful to its dedicated Board of Governors, led by Co-Chairmen Rabbi Shabsai Wolfe and Mr. Brian Levinson, and Board of Regents led by Chairman, Mr. Eric Rothner. Additionally, HTC thanks its devoted banquet committee, alumni, parents and gracious community supporters for making this year’s banquet another fabulous success. With your support, HTC will continue to flourish into its 94th year and beyond.
