Hebrew Theological College

On Tuesday, December 9, 2014, Hebrew Theological College held its 92nd Annual Banquet at the Westin O’Hare. This year, HTC payed tribute to Beryl and Florence Miller, Guests of Honor, Jordan and Sue Klein, Parents of the Year, and Pnina Levinson and Zehava Krauss for their decade of leadership as coordinators for HTC's Rabbi William Z. and Eda Bess Novick z"l Bigdei Yisrael clothing drive project. Each of the honorees are true examples of this year’s dinner theme, Toras Chaim V’Ahavas Chesed, Living Torah and Love of Kindness.

The Banquet, attended by over 400 supporters, parents and faculty, featured inspirational and informative addresses by Rabbi Avraham Friedman, Rosh HaYehsiva and Rabbi Shmuel Schuman, Interim CEO.

Rabbi Schuman included an update regarding the upcoming relationship with Touro College, and beautifully expressed HTC and Touro's joint commitment that this alliance will serve to expand HTC's horizons while retaining a unique identity to serve our students and our community.

The goal of the partnership is to create opportunities to leverage Touro's resources to benefit HTC students in the Beis Midrash and college for men and Blitstein Institute for women. Those opportunities will include pathways to graduate schools, expanding options for on-line courses and access to Touro's digital library resources. More information on this new alliance will be forthcoming in the near future.

Another high point of the evening was the video presentation that featured the Torah learning and chesed that our Rabbeim, faculty and students participate in on a constant basis. Attendees were able to see firsthand how HTC is intricately involved in the community, stretching beyond the walls of the Yeshiva. Click here to watch

On December 2nd, Yeshiva Women and Yeshiva Parents of Hebrew Theological College held an evening event at the home of Alan and Jodi Gershman.  In celebration of the upcoming Chanukah holiday, HTC welcomed Chef Laura Frankel who shared her favorite Chanukah recipes with a healthy twist.
