Kayitz Adventure Trip

Last summer, we offered a week-long pilot program (KAT) to high school-age boys. We took 25 participants and 7 staff to adventures in upper Michigan and Wisconsin which included: exploring sand dunes, rafting, Zip-lining, tubing, and other challenging and thrilling activities. All the boys fell in love with the natural beauty of Michigan’s west coast. So much so, that we are dedicating this summer’s Kayitz Adventure Trip exclusively to Michigan.

KAT Michigan is available to boys who are currently in 7th grade through 11th grade. KAT @ Michigan runs from August 12th through the 16th. Our home base is Camp Ao-Wa-Kiya near Shelby, MI. It is located on Stoney Lake, less than two miles off Lake Michigan (which we can canoe or hike to). The camp is state-of-the-art and simply beautiful. We spent Friday and Shabbos there last summer. Nobody wanted to leave. Activities will include: On the Lake - tubing, sailing, canoeing, Kayaking, SUP, inflatable volleyball, an inflatable obstacle course, and more. The camp offers a Zip-line, high ropes course, climbing wall, human Foosball, and several target sports. We also offer an instructional ski option.

Although we could fill each day just with activities at Ao-Wa-Kiya, our coach bus will be taking us on daily excursions to many nearby adventures: Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan Adventure theme park, and Happy Mohawk river rafting. There is much more being planned. KAT Michigan is going to be the adventure trip that your son will never forget!

We have kept the cost down as much as possible. The all-inclusive fee is $585.00. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any scholarship for KAT.  For information regarding 3rd party need-based scholarships contact Rabbi Polstein.

Applying for KAT is easy. If you have not yet enrolled your son in Yeshivas Hakayitz, please follow these directions. (It is the same application used for Yeshivas Hakayitz.) Using the online application, you will have the choice to add KAT to your son’s Kayitz enrollment or, if your son is not attending Yeshivas HaKayitz this summer, you just choose KAT as your only enrollment option. You will be asked to pay a $100 deposit by credit card. The charge will not take place until your enrollment process is completed and your son accepted into the program. The policies regarding payment, cancellations, and refunds that apply to Yeshivas Hakayitz will apply to KAT and are stated in the application.
